In a recent development, the Westmoreland Police have arrested and charged a 30-year-old cashier, Tamika Thorp, from Baram District, for obtaining money by false pretenses.
Employed at a gaming lounge in Savanna-la-Mar, Thorp allegedly reused previously paid-out winning tickets to claim an additional $12,000 from the establishment.
The incident, caught on CCTV, led to her confession and subsequent arrest. She is expected to appear in court shortly.
