Spanish Town, Jamaica — In a bold daytime heist, armed robbers targeted the National Commercial Bank (NCB) ATM located inside the LOJ Plaza on Tuesday, making off with a substantial amount of cash.
Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred around midday when the perpetrators forced their way into the area housing the ATM. Despite the door being closed, they successfully pried the machine open and absconded with all the cash inside.
Local police were alerted shortly after the robbery took place and quickly arrived at the scene to investigate. Surveillance footage is being reviewed as authorities work to identify the suspects and gather further evidence.
Residents in the area expressed shock at the audacity of the crime, highlighting concerns about safety in public spaces. The police have urged anyone with information regarding the robbery to come forward as they ramp up efforts to apprehend those responsible.
The incident marks a troubling trend in ATM-related crimes in the region, prompting calls for enhanced security measures to protect both customers and banking institutions.
