Construction worker shot dead in St Catherine

A 25-year-old construction worker was shot and killed last night in St Catherine. 

The victim has been identified as Kneguo Anthony Fonti, also known as “Nico’, from Point Hill in the parish.

The fatal shooting occurred around 8:20 p.m. in the Morrison District, which falls under the jurisdiction of the St Catherine North Police Division. According to reports from residents, gunshots were heard in the area, prompting concerned community members to alert the police.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Fonti with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and upper body. He was rushed to Spanish Town Hospital, but medical staff pronounced him dead shortly after his arrival.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating.
